Linq vs Plinq vs GPU demo program (GPS)

Mar 10, 2013 at 9:34 AM
Maybe I don't understand, but app calculate different number of points, if I clicked all four buttons sequentially one by one.
No. GPS points: 10000000
Target points: 3

Linq and Plinq found 1855 points.
GPU and GPU naive found 2 points.

In fact, GPU calculation gives always much less points.
So, why difference CPU vs GPU?

Thanks in advance.

It re-calculates the random points each time so it is not exactly a direct comparison in terms of result. It does however brute force go through all points.

Thank you for an explanation.
Now I have different issue. This demo was launched on desktop computer (GeForce 210).
When I try to launch this on my laptop with Quadro FX770M, there is an exception when called:

GPGPU gpu = CudafyHost.GetDevice(CudafyModes.Target); (in my own project)

GeForce 210 has CUDA version 1.2 capability, but FX770M only version 1.0. Is this the reason for error exception? How can I resolve it?

Laptop has installed Windows 8 64-bit and Nvidia driver 311.35 (WHQL).
Desktop has Windows 7 64-bit and Nvidia driver 310.90 (WHQL).

In my own project, I installed CUDAfy via NuGet.
I also installed CUDA 5.0 for notebok instead of desktop version on laptop.

Thank you for taking time for an explanation.

EDIT: Nevermind, CudafyModule km = CudafyTranslator.Cudafy(eArchitecture.sm_11); solved all problems. :)
